Happy Sunday!

Still Jamie here. The kids made it back from Alaska late last night. (Thank Dog the neighbor volunteered to go to the airport! woot!) I'll go home later today, but had a minute to use their fast computer. (I want one too.)

Do not ask me why Sunny, age 7, well behaved K-9,good head on her shoulders...has been morphing into a wacko. I have seen it slowly coming on over the past week, but holy cow. When the weary travelers came in at about 11 or 11:30 PM, not only were they greeted exuberantly by the whippet(this she does by jumping all over everybody),but oh my lord. Sunny turned into a 58 pound whirling dervish. Said Whippet is smaller than Sunny. She doesn't TACKLE people. There was tackling, zooming, washing of faces-vigorously-,pawing. I did not know who this dog was. She became deaf(apparently) to my commands, cajoling, pleadings.

Normal excited doggy behavior you are saying. Not for Sunny. She has been trained to show her affection in safe ways. So she doesn't "kill" my 82 yr old mother. So she doesn't knock me down. Oh, she gets to act crazy dog-usually outside and with permission. She just knows (knew) not to tackle people!!

Finally, her hearing returned enough to hear my "Sunny come" (which she did at warp speed, hoping to tackle me) I got her outside, slammed the door and began my apologies. I'm hoping it's something in the water. Otherwise, I'm thinking excorcism (sp?)

Hugs to all

Sunny, Scooter and Jamie (speechless)

Nice to meet you guys. We do go to Lewisville lake but we go to Sycamore Bend Park. You take 35 to the new Lake Dallas exit that puts you out by the Rave Theater. After Chili's and the steakhouse take that right, Turbeville Road. You will go by the mansion.. When the road ends hang a left. (straight ahead is a dead end and there is a very nasty looking dirt road that goes right out to Swisher.. Follow this road to the T and go left, it is a smaller tar road almost one lane follow it to the end and your at the park. It is a free park just a boat ramp and a few picnic tables.. We love it since it is so quiet..
Hey our boy Toph used to work at the Tomato. We thought Becky and Ski were going to reopen it but no work yet. Ski has a job at Peterbuilt so we don't know of a plan. We sure do miss their whole wheat crust pizza..

Yup, sounds like Sunny has decided she is a whippet to me. That is how Teka acts when she comes back from a visit with Swede William and the gang...but it is prolly easier to take from a 12.5 lb JRT than from a dog the size of my friend Mr. Beasely back in VA. hahaha

That would be a site. But he used to get almost that excited about foods?

oh no! no exorcism for Sunny! we must save her! running, jumping, and whirling sounds like a lot of fun - a nice exciting way to greet a very good friend! that's our method too - except when mom is cranky, then we have to behave. behaving is such a lot of work. whirling and jumping is way more fun.

woofs.

It's called EGD - Excessive Greeting Disorder. We whippets feel it's our duty to pass it on whenever we can.

Hey, we never knew there was a name for it. EGO -- Excessive Greeting Disorder. Wow, if there's a name for it, then we can plead a clinical reason for our behavior!!!

Guess we'll see you at Gussie's -- we've already left on the cruise ship we commandeered.

It will be fun practicing our EGO on new people and canines.

Woofs,

Jake and Just Harry
