update 2 on Gramma

Jamie posting again. Just wanted to let y'all know that my mom has not had her permanent pacemaker put in yet. She has developed pneumonia, her white blood cells(the ones that fight infection) have been very high. She is on 3 different antibiotics, still on the vent(machine that breathes for her) and still has the temporary pacer wire. She has also had to have several blood transfusions as her platlets and red blood cells were too low.
They hope to be able to do the permanent pacemaker tomorrow, but that has been the case all week. I'm trying to stay positive. Once again, thanks for all of your good thoughts. She stays deeply sedated most of the time, but has roused and been responsive several times. She has even attempted to communicate by writing to us(since you can't talk on a vent). She wrote out "I don't think I'll survive this", and we all told her yes she would and she has to fight. She is getting tired. I really hope that the surgery can be done tomorrow. So that's my prayer tonight. And that she can get off the vent.
Sunny & Scooter seem to know something is going on. They seem concerned for me. What would we do without our dogs? My 2 sisters from CA are still here. My daughter has been here every night until tonight, she had to go home this evening. She'll be back tomorrow though.
That's about it. One of these days soon, I am hoping things will look up and we can visit our wonderful DWB friends. Sunny & Scooter hope so too!
God Bless all of you for the wonderful support. I really appreciate it very much.
Hugs to you all.

update

Jamie here again. (Has it only been a couple of days since I posted? Seems like a long time) I sure want to let y'all know how much it means to us that so many have come by with healing vibes and prayers. Mom will have a permanent pacemaker put in this afternoon. After that, we need to get her off the vent(breathing machine.)
My 2 sisters from California came in Saturday evening and my daughter has been staying with me. That helps. And, as I said, you all help. Thanks for your phone call, Marilyn(better known as Lacie, Scruffy and BabyStan's mumsie). Thank you for your phone call Ami,(Asta'a mom) . DWBers are a wonderful family.
Of course I don't know what the final outcome of this will all be, but Mom is proving herself to be quite a fighter. Thanks for everyone's support. It means more than you know. I will let y'all know when she makes it off the vent. Inserting a pacemaker is pretty routine, I've seen lots of them. It becomes different when it is your Mom and she has been coded. But I am thinking positive and praying.
Thank you, thank you friends.
Hugs

Power of the Paw & StannyBaby

Sunny reporting in. Mom is home(they keep kicking her outa there. ha) She says gramma is better today. The POWER of the PAW!!! Mom is not scared for gramma for the first time in a couple of weeks!! Gramma is still at the hospital, but gramma is making sense when she talks to mom and breathing some better. Also, they are still adjusting cardiac meds, but all in all, there is a little bit of progress! Very good news when we have had zippo progress for all this time. (Mom appears to me to be on the "punchy" side...guess it is fatigue and relief)

Ahem. Most of you were right. That hunk is BabyStan, who I will be referring to as StannyBaby. Our first date was on New Year's Eve in the Big Apple. Here are the 2 pictures that Asta took. It was quite a night.
(StannyBaby and I on the far right)

You will notice in the second picture,(StannyBaby & myself on the far left), that while fireworks are going off in the sky, we only have eyes for each other..... He does have gorgeous eyes. *sigh* He brought me a lovely corsage too. A comment on my blog from him: "Sunny...would it be ok if I sent you a corsage to wear tonight? I was thinkin' white roses to match ur bootiful curly fur....??????Let me know if that's ok...Airekisses...Stanley
December 31, 2008 8:54 AM" How thoughtful and romantic.

We also got to spend time together when I went up to help nurse Lacie's lips. He was a pawfect gentleman. I hope he will be coming down to Texas to spend some time with me, since Mom is gone so much. To hold my paw while we get through this. If you are reading this Stanny, let me know if and when you will arrive.

Mom says we are going to try to comment on all our friends' blogs. But she says we are so behind, we will have to start with today's and on instead of commenting on all the past entries. K? Also she says we had been given some lovely awards and she appreciates them so much, but now her feeble brain does not remember which ones or who :( She's so sorry.

HUGS to all of you
and THANKS
Sunny

Thank you very much and who knows who this "babe" is????

Sooo-Sunny reporting in. Mom got sent home. Something about being "dead on her feet". Does that even make sense to anydog? Anyway....

Mom and Scooter and I want to thank all of you guys so very much. There has not been any change with gramma, but we feel better since all of y'all have come by. We've said it before and will no doubt repeat ourselves many more times-what a wonderful "family" DWB is. Truly.

Mom had a wonderful phone conversation with Asta's mommi tonight. I noticed she was actually smiling. Thanks Ami!!! You made Mom happy.

Mom is supposed to go to bed....I haven't gotten her there yet. Sooooooo. I will post a pictire of a dude with "bedroom eyes". Do any of y'all know who he is???? *wink*

Look at those eyes........he's no baby. He's a babe. (oops that might have given it away!)

Mom says we gotta go to bed. Thanks everyone for thinking of us.

Thanks Ami for making mom smile tonight. We will be thinking about you tomorrow!!!

Asking for prayers, healing vibes, whatever you have

Hi everyone. We have been missing you all. My mom is very sick and has been in the hospital for about 10 days now. I ask for your prayers if you pray, your healing vibes or whatever you can give. I believe there is power in numbers. Please pray for or send healing vibes to my mom, Anna. Thanks.
Sunny and Scooter say hi to everyone and they sure hope to visit their friends soon. I miss you guys too. Right now I am scared for mom. I am not ready to lose her.
Much love to all of you

CATS

OMD. I forgot to tell you yesterday. My human sissy has 2 CATS now. They used to live outside, so I never saw them much.
WELL. Now they both, yes, BOTH, live IN THE HOUSE. ALL THE TIME!! Sorry to yell so much but, oh. the horror.
They are 2 fixed boys. And they have the run of the whole place. I gotta tell you, it has been a nightmare. Mom is gonna try to get pictures of them for me to show them to you. They whap my whippet cousin all the time. I won't begin to tell you how Scooter and I hit it off with them. (Especially me. Well, I can't be totally reasonable ALL the time. That's what I told Mom.)
Oh, and yesterday it was 83 here. Today it will be 40 degrees cooler(when it warms up some). Crazy!
Mom says I gotta go.
When you say your Sunday prayers, remember me and these da** cats....
Hugs

It's 2009! And tree lobsters

Hi everydoggie, kitty and hammy. Can you believe it is 2009? Mom says time flies. She says the strangest things..I never saw time flying. Just planes and birds. Oh well.
We are at my human sister's house and will be going home Monday or Tuesday. So we don't have any pics to share. But we have been doing alot of squirrel hunting because their yard is full of them. It has been very sunny and warm and we've been loving it.
Mom says things are starting to get better. That makes both Scooter and me very happy.
Thanks for all your good wishes. We love our DWB friends bunches and bunches. Here's to a great and healthy year for all of us and our humans!!
Gotta go stake out a tree. The other day a branch broke and a squirrel fell down to the ground with it. And DANG IT, I was on the other side of the yard. By the time I ran over the squirrel was on it's way back up. I NEARLY got him!!! So I am staying right by that tree in case another branch falls. Then that tree lobster will be mine!
See y'all in a few days after we get home.
Hugs
Sunny and Scooter too
