For Snickers New Angel at the bridge

We are so sorry we have not been able to give our words for Miss Snickers. (Uh, this puter may have to go back to the geeks....sheesh) Anyway, I was sent the following when my Tess had to go to the bridge for lymphoma. I do not know who wrote it.

From Friend To Friend

You're giving me a special gift,
so sorrowfully endowed.
And through these last few cherished days,
your courage made me proud.
But, really love is knowing
when your best friend is in pain.
And understanding earthly acts
will only be in vain.

So looking deep into your eyes,
beyond, into your soul,

I see in you the magic that will once more make me whole.
The strength that you possess,
is why I look to you today.
To do the thing that must be done.
For it's the only way.
That strength is why I've followed you,
and chose you as my friend.
And why I've loved you all these years.....
My partner 'til the end.
Please, understand just what this gift,
you're giving means to me.
It gives me back the strength I've lost,
and all my dignity.
You take a stand on my behalf,
for that is what friends do.
And know that what you do is right,
for I believe it too.

So one last time, I breathe your scent,
and through your hand I feel
the courage that's within you,
to grant me this appeal.
Cut the leash that holds me here, dear friend,
and let me run.
Once more a strong and steady dog,
my pain and struggle done.

Don't despair about my passing,
for I won't be far away.
Forever here, within your heart
and memory I'll stay.
I'll be there watching over you,
your ever faithful friend.
And in your memories I'll run..........
a young, healthy dog once again.
Many Hugs
Jamie , Sunny, Scooter and Shaymus
pee ess hope everyone had a nice turkey day. I have yet to have any turkey as I have caught the crud/ urch.

Puter Woes-Maybe Monday now...

I have managed to fire up the dinasaur of the computer to let y'all know that I do not have my real laptop back yet. "Should" be Monday........
This is the one that is so old it turns itself off and on, goes black screen, all kinds of strange thing. I guess at 9 years old, it is expected to become trash....dunno.
Scooter is on his date with Miss Lilly(over at Mack's Mess). I don't know what they are planning, but he flew down.
I better stop before this computer stops. we have flashed to black and back already, so I must skeedaddle.
Hope to get our other one back, in the next decade ;)
Have a good weekend. I will be by to visit when it is not russian roullette computer style!!
Hugs
Jamie and the kids
pee ess I get the comments on the phone I have too, so please let me know about snickers. Trying to visit blogs is ridiculous on the phone......"smart phone" my foot

Ruh Ro

Ok-well this computer is going to the computer doctor. They SAY I should have it back by Fiday. Cross fingers. They are going to install xp and they assure me they can make it work. I hope I don't lose the blog.......AACCKKKKK.
Vista has run me more nuts than usual. (And I'm half gone to begin with=ha)
They are going to fix some "issues " it has nonrelated to Vista. (At least I guess they are unrelated.)
Hugs,
Sunny, Scooter & Ta Da:
Seamus (Shaymus) I'll explain why I considered it and why I went with it when I get puter back
Boy yesterday was a day...central heat stopped working(lordy-managed to climb up in attack and of course unit is alllll the way to back. Left a door unlocked and took cell phone in case I feall through-lol) It is a 1978 model...AC folks had already told me it needed to be replaced, but boy I got sooo frustrated just made me cry with frustration)
Got that out, then went to walley world to buy 3 heaters. Those kind filled with oil that look like a small radiator. While tying to look at box on top shelf, thought there was room to turn it around=dangum thing fell on my head_ woo hoo, stars. Then I got help. SHEESH! Came home with 3, They are safe, energy efficient(elec) and work! (Of course it was the first night we were to have a frost... And the morning I attempted to turn heater on it was mid 30's brrrrrrr/take a shower in that. This old duplex does not have good seals, if it is windy, you can see a paper towel blow...arrrgghhh. Bless your heart Mom.
I can wrap up but sheesh...the pups, and trying to bathe! TOO cold. So we are good to go now.
Oh, there is more, but I will leave further bitc*ing, whining, etc for later.
Hugs
Jamie

Help out this pup with no name, please

So here's the thing. Tomorrow this boy will be 4 mos old and he has been here 2 weeks now. Mom has names narrowed down, and she doesn't believe "little s**t" would be a great one.
She wants a name preferably with 2 syllables, she wants a name to fit him as an adult and not one that fits him as a clumsy little bear cub.(which he sometimes reminds us of)
Here are ones she has narrowed it down to(probably)
Tex or Big Tex
Ranger (as in Texas Ranger)
Toby
Wrangler
Seamus(pronounced shaymus-irish for James)
Wiley
Course there's names like Midnight-opp of Sunny... Mooney ...Mom likes Mike(y) ???????
He likes to hit and run...
Dunno why Sunny would be thinking of calling him Dumbo....

Crazy fast

ok hiya, gotta go now!

Bitey face begins

oops time to run
hit and run is how I roll

she isn't coming is she?

doesn't look like it

now I can go into attack mode again

This is the "playpen" where he stays when the "nice ladee, who sunny says is my new mom",cannot watch him close.
Also the only place where mom can get him kinda still for a pic!

HIYAHIYAHIYA

ooooooofff, smushed my nose! Not that coordinated so far

Look at this face....what IS he thinking??????

This could have lots of captions. Pretty good looking dude Mom thinks.

I am not sure, I have never had so much trouble with a name.(Part of the trouble may be I associate some names I might have used with some bloggy kids now. So they just don't work.)
So friends, what do you think?? Any you like? Any suggestions(beau sounds too much like no as I told Muzzer. Nice name tho) He can't be puppy forever so Mom has got to make her mind up.
Help us out. Though it may come to Mom in a thunderbolt. whooo knows. Please let us know what you think. Mom generally names her boys with human boy names, but...she just doesn't know.
Hugs,
Sunny
ps(I tried to put the phrases by the pics I thought they should go with. It sure doesn't work out that way in the preview. Also, how come so many of my sentences are ending with prepositions???Getting a D I would guess ;) Also part of my agonizing over a name is that he will be my official service dog. So, poopsie just wouldn't be fittin!

Seen on the road somewhere deep in the Heart of Texas

Back in May when we went to San Antonio, Mom had her sister take a picture of us by this old building. Mom thought it was cool. It made me hungry! (Mom added the small lettering-and has no idea how she did it now. Pitiful, isn't she. Bless her heart.... ;)
We hope everyone remembered our minute with Miss Snickers today. We only hope when everyone blew their kiss at the end, that we did not blow them out of their house!

On a very sad note, Max's mom lost her mom today. We have given our condolences already. So hard to lose a mom.

Hope your weekend is a nice one. We are still holding all who need it in our hearts.

Hugs,

Sunny, the very good poodle

ps mom says to tell everyone that she is crazy busy trying to teach the little guy some manners, pack a box here and there, so we are slow in getting around to visit. Sorry.

History is Made! & What NO ONE should miss. SERIOUSLY!!

Well, not huge history, but the first time our header pic has been changed here. Our header picture has been the same since we started in Aug of 2008 and today we changed it! Mumsie, Lacie, babystan & butchy's humom, said it was ok to use the banner she made.
Because we really need to circle the wagons and reach out our paws around the world for some of our friends facing some scary stuff.

We have several dogs that need the power of the paw, like Max He has a mast cell tumor and has an appointment with a specialist on Monday. His mom and dad have had him 9-10 years and he is one of those heart dogs. He lives in South Africa and lives in such a beautiful area.He is a tour guide -who will ever forget his hosting of a BUNCH of dogs from DWB.
Uh, probably not his neighbors or the officials....

Here is a picture of him with his sweetheart. AWWWWW Power of the paw needed for him, his pack.

Next is Eduardo Y'all probably know him as the snuggle puggle because he loves to snuggle. He has a painful condition(no big words today, when you go to visit him, his momma ,Ana, has covered it well.)

Ana thought this pic looked as though God was looking down on him and he was looking back up, smiling at Him. I love it.

This one shows those eyes. I love those eyes. Eduardo is everything to his Mom. He helps her when she has a siezure, and well he is another heart dog. Please include Eduardo in your prayers, sending zen, anything. He isn't but 2. He needs to get WELL!

Miss snickers had her bag packed for the bridge this morning. (Go to her blog to see her mom's telling of it) She CAME HOME though. We must keep on with all we are doing for all who need our help. But Miss Snickers had/has ALL of us very scared. Her one and only, Gussie has been beside himself with worry. See, Gussie is miss snicker's boyfriend, but the cool thing is that couple or so years ago, all gussie's family (before they had Teka) met all miss snicker's family. So even the humans know each other IRL(in real life) That was back when I read the blogs, didn't have one, and very seldom made a comment. I remember it well, thought it would be so cool for 2 dog bloggers to meet. (Sorry, I am losing track-and it is a VERY short one-of what I am here to talk about)

We need to howl to heaven, join paws, cross everything we have that's crossable(not the eyes, please) that miss snickers does NOT have lymphoma. Especially where she is having the swelled lymph nodes. That happens to be where my little Tess's was and we must do all we can to keep lymphoma AWAY from miss snickers. Surely you don't have to have a wirey angel right now, Lord. PLEASE.

Fergi&Jake have a great idea. Please go over and see what it is! Basically, at 1700 hours CST tomorrow, Sat Sept 14, all of us will take one minute. As I said please go read the details of this great idea at Fergi and Jakes. They even have a link where you can go and find out what time that is wherever you are. Please spread the word to all you know. Let's just see if can make that tired, worried pack really feel us! I bet we can. (I know the dogs will, geez, they are dogs for corn sake!!) They live in Iowa. For "corn" sake, get it???? ok not so good, but one must keep humor alive. It is very healing too. Not so sure "corny" puns are...hahahahaha oh I crack me up. Ahem
Just giving myself some laugh therapy.

I do Love this spa picture of Miss Snickers. Sweetie, we are holding you in our hearts. And your tired mom.

PLEASE,PLEASE, spread the word. The paws around the world badge, take it and put it on your blog if you would like. It is ok with Marilyn, er Mumsie. Take the bling photo of miss snickers. Please get the word out about the timed event for miss snickers tomorrow. Please visit and support all 3 of these wonderful dogs and their packs. It really helps. I promise
Thanks
Jamie

Adding 12 paws to the circle....

The circle of paws is above. (made by lacie, scruffy&babystan)Miss Asta wishing on the dog star is next.

Miss Snickers needs our paw power. Gussie is terribly worried about his Miss Snickers, and he needs cheering up.
Max in Africa needs us.
And little Eduardo, the puggle, he needs us too.
Mom is super busy right now, but we will be howling to heaven, wishing on the dog star with Asta, providing 12 more paws to the circle of paws. And Mom is going to pray God doesn't need any new angels right now!!
Hugs
Sunny& the pack

Thank you Veterans, We Salute You

Today is Veteran's Day. It is the day we set aside to honor veterans of all branches of the service. An official day to say thank you. Hopefully we will say thank you every other day too.

To Peanut's Dad, Thank you.

To AO4's Dad, Thank You.

To Dog Dad of the Key West Collies, Thank You.

These are the 3 vets that we know of in DWB, but I'm sure there are more. Thank you to whoever you are.

To my son James, still on active duty in the US Army in Korea, Thank You.

To my son in law,Marc , Thank You.

To my sister Martha and my sister Katie, Thank You.

Thank you to each and every veteran. Today and Everyday. We salute you for all you have done in the past, all you are doing now, and for allowing us our freedoms.
Really, there aren't enough words to thank those who defend our country, our way of life and make all of us feel safe. Thank you just doesn't seem to cover it.
God Bless all of our Veterans.

New kid in the pack

Well, looks like that "stranger" in the yard is our new brother. Huh...I was rather peeved at first, but he is showing some promise as a playmate and squirrel afficienado. He still doesn't have a name except pup. Mom says she has several she is considering, but hasn't settled on any yet.
Look at those ears! Maybe you should call him Dumbo, Mom! heh Since "pup" plays pretty rough, Scooter is in a pen so he doesn't get knocked into next week by "pup's" paw. He is quite clumsy still.

He was born 7/17/09 and has been here one week. He never slows down it seems! Mom says since it has been 8 years since she had a puppy, she had forgotten how labor intensive they are. Ha,ha Mom. Serves you right for bringing in another dog....except he is fun for me, I have to admit. (He is a Standard poodle like me. Guess y'all knew that already...)

Scooter is not amused. He is busy talking to his twin.....I guess.

Blogger is being real slow loading pics today, so my great digging work and how mom ruined it will be put on the next post. Geez, I have been working on it for ages too. Oh well. Y'all have a great day, I think I'll go play with my new brother.
Hugs
Sunny

Half Staff for Fort Hood, Texas

We weep and pray for the soldiers and their families in this murderous tragedy. Here are some pics of local flags. The flags are to remain at half staff until veteran's day by order of the Commander in Chief.
(For those that do not know, Texas chose to remain a Republic when it joined the US as a state. Therefore, it is the only state in the Union whose flag may fly at the same height as the Stars & Stripes.
The last pic shows the proper way to display the flag when darkness falls. If you fly the flag, unless it is lit when darkness falls, take it down. Lastly, when a flag is flown half staff, proper protocol is to raise it to it's full height, then lower it to half staff. The same is true when taken down. And the flag should NEVER touch the ground.)
Yes, it is but a piece of material. But what it stands for, all the lives that have been lost for it, as those at Fort Hood, commands our respect as the symbol of freedom that has been bought at a huge price since the reveolution. God Bless our country, and those who have given the ultimate price, as those did at Fort Hood...
We will hold you in our hearts. All of those murdered, wounded and their families.
God Bless You and God Bless America
Jamie

What do you think?

Jamie here. I wanted to do a different post today but am having trouble with %@#$**&^$#@#^&* loading of pictures.

AHEM so as briefly as I am able to relate this story, here goes. Several months ago I was putting gas in my car. I was approached by a man and a woman. Nope they were not looking spiffy, and I noticed they had a small dinged up car. (I'm not good at telling what kind of a car one is but this one was reddish)

In a nutshell, they were trying to get home to Arlington and the tank was on empty, something about their money being stolen. Well, I said let me see what I have. (I usually don't have much if any cash on me.)
I found(with change) $5.75 Told them I'm sorry it's all I've got. They thanked me effusively. Then I saw the woman going in to give the money. Along the way she asked others and I saw she was striking out. By now, my car is finished and I started to get into my car.
Well, I'm thinking how the heck far are they going to get on that. Got out of my car, went over to the guy and said, look I'm putting gas in your car with my card. Again, God Bless, Thank You. etc. So, I filled his tank. While they each gave me a hug, I just asked them to pay it forward if they ever had the chance.
I've been told by some that was stupid to do. "You don't have money to throw around like that. Yeah, I'll bet they "lost" their money...etcetc. " They may be right , BUT My thought is if you try to help with good intentions, that is what matters. And I still think someday some help will come to me when I need it....karma
So what do you think? What would you have done.
Now to figure out what the &*&^^%%$#@$^&* is the problem with pics. Dang it.
Have a great one,
Jamie (who doesn't think she was a "sucker" :)
